On the Edge with Troy

FIRST EVER BLOG

O.K. HERE'S THE DEAL. I FIGURE THIS IS GOING TO BE A FREE-FOR-ALL SMACK TALKING BLOG!!!.THAT BEING SAID, I INVITE CREATIVE SMACK TALK...NOT JUST "YOUR TEAM SUCKS" STUFF. ITS BORING AND FASCIOUS.

ANY SLAMS ON RELIGION, RACE...ETC. (YOU KNOW THE DEAL.WE'VE ALL READ THOSE KIND OF DISCLAIMERS) WILL BE DELETED AND REPORTED.

SO SAVE US ALL THE HEADACHES AND STICK TO SPORTS...

ANY SMACK THAT SEEMS WORTHY, I'LL HOOK YOU UP WITH SOME 104.7 THEEDGE SWAG OR SOMETHING.

SO TO START, I FIGURED I'D GET AN IDEA OF WHAT GOES ON BY STARTING OFF EASY AND JUST THROWING A VERY DEBATABLE TOPIC OUT THERE AND SEE WHAT BITES.....NFL QUARTERBACK CONTROVERSY!!!!

A LOT OF TEAMS HAVE MORE THAN ONE QUARTERBACK ON THEIR ROSTERS, MOST OF WHICH ARE EITHER GOING TO BE, COULD BE EVENTUALLY, OR AT ONE TIME WAS A STARTER.

WHO HAS THE BIGGEST QUANDRY IN CHOOSING WHO SHOULD BE TAKING

SNAPS UNDER CENTER THIS YEAR? AND WHO SHOULD IT BE?

BUFFALO BILLS--TRENT EDWARDS VS J.P. LOSMAN

NEW YORK JETS--CHAD PENNINGTON VS KELLEN CLEMENS

MIAMI DOLPHINS--JOHN BECK VS LUKE MCCOWN VS CHAD HENNE

CLEVELAND BROWNS--DEREK ANDERSON VS BRADY QUINN

DETROIT LIONS--JON KITNA VS DREW STANTON

GREEN BAY PACKERS--AARON RODGERS VS BRIAN BROHM

BALTIMORE RAVENS--KYLE BOLLER VS JOE FLACCO

K.C.CHIEFS--DAMON HUARD VS TRENT GREEN VS BRODIE CROYLE

CHICAGO BEARS--REX GROSSMAN VS KYLE ORTON

ARIZONA CARDINALS--KURT WARNER VS MATT LEINART

ATLANTA FALCONS--JOEY HARRINGTON VS MATT RYAN

MINNESOTA VIKINGS--GUS FRERROTTE VS BROOKS BOLLINGER VS TRAVARES JACKSON

OBVIOUSLY, SOME OF THESE PLAYERS MAY NOT BE ON THE TEAM ROSTER BY THE TIME THE 2008-2009 SEASON ROLLS AROUND, BUT AS FOR NOW, IT LOOKS LIKE SOME TOUGH DECISIONS FOR COACHES TO MAKE.

I totally agree Troy, and its not just the controversy the media likes to make it so psyched up over, but let us all remember that its the head coaches that instigate the controversies.  They are the ones who bring it up prior to the reporters asking any questions during the daily press conferences.  I am just glad that my Seattle Seahawks do not have that type of problem because we all know Matt Hasselbeck will more than likely be gunning for the MVP this coming season.

As for the list, one team that is going to have a huge controversy is the Arizona Cardinals.

Matt Leinart will go into his third season attempting not only to regain the Heisman Trophy-type ability he once had in Los Angeles while playing for the USC Trojans, but also he knows that this will be his last shot as a starter he was the one that Cardinals General Manager Rod Graves was claiming to be the team's savior to bring them out of misery.

Meanwhile, Kurt Warner has gained his reputation and his ability back to where it was in 1999, where he carried the St. Louis Rams to the Super Bowl title run.  He, too, knows that this is his last shot at being the quarterback he once was.  More importantly, Warner is the starting quarterback type that Leinart needs to learn from anyways.  If it was not for Warner in 2007, the Cardinals would not have finished 8-8 last season.  Because of the .500 record, head coach Ken Whisenhunt will have a long stay in Glendale.
