Game On!

IVE CALMED DOWN A BIT NOW......

SO AFTER READING A FEW OF YOUR COMMENTS AND GOING ABCK THROUGH SOME OF MY BLOGS I NOTICED I HADN'T GIVEN MY PICKS FOR MLB....SO HERE THEY ARE

AL EAST: RED SOX
AL CENTRAL: TIGERS
AL WEST : ANGLES
WILDCARD INDIANS

NL EAST: PHILLIES ( A GIRL CAN DREAM CAN'T SHE?!?!)
NL CENTRAL: BREW CREW
NL WEST: DODGERS
WILDCARD: METS

TURNING TO FOOTBALL...THE NFL IS CONTEMPLATING MAKING PLAYERS WITH LONG HAIR TUCK IT UP IN THEIR HELMET.  BASICALLY SAYING THEY COULD BE SERIOUSLY INJURED BY SOMEONE PULLING THEM TO THE GROUND BY THEIR HAIR.  ACCORDING TO ESPN.COM ...Chiefs are pushing for a rule change that would prevent Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu and other players with dreadlocks or long hair from covering the names on the backs of their jerseys. The rule is pretty simple: Any hair that covers that area has to be addressed.

HOW IMPORTANT IS THIS ... VERY?  HOW MUCH OF A PROBLEM IS THIS... A BIG ONE?  IM NOT SURE.  I HAVE NOTICED (AND MAYBE THIS IS JUST A GIRL THING BUT...)THE HAIR IS GETTING LONGER THESE DAYS AND QUITE FRANKLY IT DOESN'T LOOK VERY GOOD.

THAT'S IT FOR NOW FOLKS ... MORE TO COME IN A FEW DAYS.

I'm sort of torn on the issue... back in the stone age when I played basketball in junior high (ha!), we had to wear our hair tied back, take out our earrings, and wear those ridiculous straps for our glasses so they didn't fall off.  It was for our own safety. But I was in seventh grade, and adults did know best.

These football players are adults, and they should probably be able to decide what to do with their own hair.  So far I haven't seen any hair-pulling injuries in the news.  And as far as reading the name on the jersey, I think everyone pretty much knows the dude with the outta control dreads is Polamalu.  But if, in fact, obstruction of the name on the jersey is an established no-no, then a-tucking he should go.  For how much money he makes, he should be able to swallow his vanity and play the game by the rules.

Well I have noticed this in the NBA as well. I guess this is what those $70-$80 jersey's pay for...extensions? I have always felt since the 90's anyways, that anyone w/dreads more than likely smokes a heck of a lot of "herb" in the off season. Heck has anyone ever seen "Big Smooth" from the Sonics in the off season? But, why concentrate on steroid abuse? Worrying about the length of ones hair is so much easier.
